Wood wasps are a rare problem. The wood wasp bores a hole into a live tree to lay its eggs. The next spring those eggs hatch. Sometimes man comes along & cuts down the tree in the mean time. If the eggs are not destroyed in the drying & milling process your house can be made of this wood. In the spring the new wasps dig their way out, just like they normally would. However, this time they emerge in your house instead of the great outdoors.
The likelihood of having a large-scale problem with wood wasps is low. You would probably have just a few. Short of a massive & expensive fumigation process they are untreatable. In our opinion they are not worth the expensive of dealing with.
